November 26, 2025Premium Textile Mills Limited has approved a $4.15 million project to install a 7.5MW wind turbine, expanding its renewable energy capacity. The company disclosed the plan in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Monday. The initiative reflects its commitment to sustainable energy practices.
The textile firm, which manufactures cotton and polyester yarn, already operates 20MW of solar power. Once the new wind turbine is installed, the total wind power capacity will reach 15MW. The project is expected to be completed by the last quarter of 2026.
Premium Textile Mills said the wind turbine will generate approximately 55.2 GWh annually and prevent 30,000 metric tons of carbon emissions each year. The combined renewable energy will cover nearly 67% of the company’s total energy needs, reducing reliance on conventional power.
The development aligns with a growing trend among Pakistani companies to adopt renewable energy, driven by rising power cuts and tariff increases. Firms across sectors are increasingly investing in solar and wind solutions to improve sustainability.
Earlier this year, Dynea Pakistan Limited announced plans for a 1.1MW captive wind project in Balochistan. Premium Textile Mills’ investment highlights the country’s accelerating shift toward green energy solutions in the industrial sector.
